New Rick Sinnett Mural Coming to Mustang

The Mustang Arts Council (MAC) is excited to announce that plans are underway for an outdoor mural by award winning muralist Rick Sinnett. Sinnett grew up in Mustang and is passionate about creating a piece for his hometown.  

 

The 50x12 foot mural will feature a scissor tail fly catcher, Oklahoma wildflower, and rays raising upward in Sinnett's signature bold style. It will be located at the corner of Hwy 152 and Morgan Rd.

 

“We are incredibly excited about this opportunity to provide a fantastic piece of public art to the community by such a talented artist,” executive director Kristen Polson said. “Not only will we see a positive economic impact from the piece, but it is an inspiration to our young people. Here we have a successful artist who grew up exactly where they are doing amazing things all across the state. Every time they drive by it they will know that they, too, can accomplish something great.”

 

Sinnett said in a meeting with Polson that he wants to do as much as he can for the Mustang community because it was the teachers here who encouraged his art in the first place.

 

Sinnett has agreed to make a limited number of signed prints available for sponsors of the mural. Donations can be made directly to the Mustang Arts Council online at www.mustangartscouncil.org or in person by contacting executive director, Kristen Polson at mustangartscouncil@gmail.com. Donations are tax deductible to this 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

 

• $100-$499 donation: signed print, name listed as annual sponsor on all 2019 MAC events/online presence, name listed on mural plaque and opening banner

• $500-$999 donation: signed print, Logo on signage at all 2019 MAC events/online presence, logo on mural plaque and opening banner

• $1000+ donation: signed 4ft canvas print, premium placement logo on signage at all 2019 MAC events/online presence, premium placement logo on mural plaque and opening banner

 

Sinnett has also granted licensing on merchandise featuring the Mustang mural design. Items could include woven socks, shirts, mugs, decals, etc. Those items will be available soon on the MAC website and at select locations around town. Proceeds from these sales will go directly toward arts efforts in Mustang.
